Episode 1 is the first episode of Touzainanboku!.
Story[]
The chapter starts off with Hatsumi talking loudly with her friends in the classroom, much to Tsubasa's annoyance who yells at her to quiet down. Hatsumi dismisses her, unable to take the "basketball chick" seriously, even saying her head is the shape of a basketball. Hatsumi is called away by her friends, leaving Tsubasa stewing while she hears rumors about Hatsumi from fellow students.
Tsubasa is in the gym giving instructions to other basketball players until two students tell her there is a problem outside. Tsubasa finds Hatsumi on her phone outside the gym and tells her she cannot loiter there. Hatsumi is unmoved and uncharacteristically quiet. Tsubasa takes the opportunity to taunt Hatsumi, about how she is the obnoxious class delinquent and how her comments about her head shape or basketball doesn't change the fact that Hatsumi's head is filled with nothing just like how she spends her days.
Hatsumi snaps at her that Tsubasa knows nothing about her and asks her why she is even playing basketball since she can't join the team anyway, advising her to look in the mirror before she talks about wasted school days. Just then, Hatsumi's phone chirps and she gives Tsubasa a lollipop as a "venue's fee" as she plans to continue to use the spot again, much to the other's dismay. Tsubasa is confused and Hatsumi asks if she did not like the flavor grape, deciding Tsubasa's favorite would probably be cola based on her hair color. Hatsumi guesses Tsubasa's favorite flavor and ends up being correct with her first assumption. Hatsumi leaves and Tsubasa is left thinking over Hatsumi's earlier words about the basketball team.
The next scene is Shihoko greeting Nana asking if the latter has had lunch already and offers to split a sweet roll with her. Nana questions Shihoko on why she is not eating with her friends and she replies they all had meetings. Shihoko says they dont have to be so formal with each other and to call each other by their first names, to which Nana agrees. Shihoko then announces that she wants to draw Nana but Nana is still confused why she would want to draw her at all since they never previously spoke to each other. Atlas, Shihoko does not know the reason herself and Nana suggests she joins the art club if she wants to draw so bad.
Shihoko eats silently before she joyfully admits she quit the club, reasoning she does not need to be in the club to create art but has not drawn since she quit and explains that being in the same class as Nana was sign that gave her inspiration to draw again. She declares that by accepting her sweet roll, Nana is now bond to her, much to the latter's disbelief. Shihoko tells Nana that if she ever changes her mind to let her draw her to let her know, stating she wont give up and Nana smiles at her words.
Shihoko asks where she sits at lunch and before Nana can answer, they overhear two students gossiping about Nana. After that, Nana quickly waves Shihoko off and leaves. The episode ends with Shihoko thinking over Nana's question, "Why don't you just join the art club?"
